Greensboro is the third most populous city in the State and surrounds the Piedmont triad metropolitan area. The city is the 68th most populous in the country and is located in Guilford County. According to the national census Bureau, the population of the city is estimated to be 288719. The city has three major interstates passing through including Interstate 40, Interstate 73 and Interstate 85. All the major highways passed through the Piedmont region of North Carolina and were originally designed to intersect in the city. Greensboro passengers use the Piedmont Triad International airport which provides services to other neighboring cities.
