The Hummer H1 is a four-wheel-drive vehicle whose design is adopted from the M998 Humvee. The car was manufactured from 1992 to 2006 and was the first vehicle in the Hummer lineup. Although the vehicle was originally designed strictly for military application, it was released to the civilian market due to the increasing demand. The vehicle was initially referred to as the Hummer. Later when GM bought the trading rights of the Hummer, it was renamed to the Hummer H1. At the same time, GM began the manufacture of the Hummer H2, which utilized the 2500 HD chassis.
