Scott was asked to transport the 2017 Cadillac CT6 Sedan from Portage, MI 49002, to Oklahoma City, OK. The 912 miles journey started early the next day and was scheduled to take 13 hours. Scott understood that balancing the gross trailer weight and the tongue weight was important to the loading operation.
After calculation of the load to be distributed on the trailer, he determined that the tongue weight should be ten to five percent of the overall trailer weight. This was carried out to avoid sway or wiggling while the vehicle was in transit.
Scott was planning to use I-55 S and I-44 to make the shipment on time. Preparations were carried out, and the 2017 Cadillac CT6 sedan loaded on the flatbed trailer. Standard pre-checks were carried out on the vehicle, and soon, the car was on its way to its destination. At the Exit 126 A merging to I-55 S, the driver was advised by the dispatch team to make integrity checks to the loaded setup.
Once the check was complete, the driver was back on the road and stopped after Exit 40B W heading towards I-70 to make another integrity check.
